Submit to this Climate Change anthology:

The call for submissions for poems for this anthology has just been extended to 31 October!

This project is a book of poems by writers from Aotearoa and the Pacific Islands, to be published by Auckland University Press. Writers published in the anthology will be paid, and will be part of a crucial book that collects the force of peoples’ words and raises all our voices in a critically important time for our people, oceans and whenua that will determine the lives of generations to come.

Climate change is an intensely emotive and political issue, with implications and causes related to almost every part of our lives. Whether you’re writing of your fears for the future of your people, radically reimagining ways through the crisis, or trying to explain what it’s like to be in love for the first time despite a slow-burning apocalypse in the background of the everyday… or reacting in any other way to how climate change affects you… then this project needs your voice.

The editors (Rebecca Hawkes, Jordan Hamel, Erik Kennedy and Essa May Ranapiri) will consider up to five poems from each writer, including new and previously published works , from writers of all ages and backgrounds. Find more information on their Facebook page.

Send up to five poems to climatechangepoetry@gmail.com by 31st October to have a chance to be in the book.
